An Ode To Dry Shampoo

Hello lovelies hope your all well, dry shampoo has been a hair savior of mine from the very day I discovered it. It has always saved my hair life on those lazy (aka greasy) morning days when my hair is just so flat and lifeless. However now that I have coloured hair I reach for my dry shampoos even more now since washing it every day makes my colour fade more.

Most times I will spray dry shampoo on my hair by sectioning the hair vertically and spraying from a distance. I will then leave it in the hair for about 1 min or 2 just so that the product soaks up all the oil.

I then get a big brush and brush out my hair from the roots making sure to brush up rather than down.

If I see any white chalky bits left I just simply spray on some leave in conditioner and it takes the white stuff away.

Batiste Dry Shampoo has to be my favourite dry shampoo till I find something better, out of the ones I have tried this one is the most effective in getting rid of the oil and making it stay non-oily too. The other dry shampoos I have tried they tend to soak up all the oil but mid way through the day my hair just looks worse.

I go through cans and cans of Batist and my favourite has to be the cherry one and the tropical one. I also carry a miniature version of Batiste in my bag and it always comes in handy.

Are you a huge fan of dry shampoo like me?

Current Summer Go To Base ☼

Hello lovelies, hope your all well. We are right in the middle of summer at the moment (well UK summer) and I have found myself reaching for the same base products as my little base routine makes sure that my foundation doesn't budge or slide off my face in the hot weather.

I have also found myself doing certain things which make my foundation last longer, and that is mixing my Nars Sheer Glow Foundation together with the Collection Concealer. Now I love my Nars Sheer Glow on its own but in the summer days and my oily skin it does tend to slide off, but once I mixed in a tiny bit of the Collection concealer it made a massive difference since the concealer is quite matte and thick and changed the texture of the foundation. Doing this definitely made my foundation last longer as well.

The next thing I do is go in with my under eye concealer and that is the MAC Studio Finish Concealer, I have terrible dark circles and this is the only thing close in my make up collection that actually makes a difference in concealing those dark semi-circles. I found the best way to apply under eye concealer is to use less and only applying it in the inner corner in a V shape.

To set it all off I am lovinnnnn' my Seventeen Miracle Matte Pressed Powder, I remember picking this up as a 'temporary' powder until I find a better one, but since then I haven't looked back and this is definitely far from my temporary powder as you can tell from how much I have used it. The powder really is a savior for oily skin and sets the make up in a nice matte finish. Although sometimes this can look a tad bit too matte for summer this is where the final product comes in my base routine.

The Boujous Cream Blush in {Tropical Coral} is a beautiful coral blush and just makes you look so healthy and glowy. I think this blush would suit all skin types and its so pretty on. Although its a cream blush it dries to a matte finish and the shimmer in the blush can only be seen in the sunlight so this is a must see when you go to your local Boujous stand.

I would love to know what base product you have been loving this summer?

The Kylie Jenner Inspired Lip

Hello lovelies hope you all well, in the recent months Kylie Jenner's make-up particularly her lips have really caught my attention, her make up is just stunning along with her fashion sense too. The picture that really inspired me was this one here.

I'm loving her nudy-pinky-browny lip colour but haven't found a lipstick that matches the picture (if anyone knows what lip colour she is wearing I would love to know) but in the meantime I came up with my own little combination to create a nudey-pink colour.

The main lip product I used was the Max Factor Color Elixir Lip Liner in the shade {04 Pink Princess} I really love this lip liner its not too drying for a lip liner that is, and I like how it glides on the lips smoothly and doesn't tug like other lip liners I have used.

However wearing this on its own was a little bit too drying so I used a minimal amount of the third colour in the Bobbie Brown Lip Pallete which has beautiful shades in it and I should use it more but on their own they just dont sit right on my lips, which is why mixing it with other lipsticks solves that problem. I also patted on slightly MAC {Chatterbox} just to make the lip combination last that bit longer.

What has your favourite lip combination been?

Visual Snippets: Birthday Goodies

Hello lovelies hope your all well ^.^ it was my 20th birthday recently and I had the most amazing time, aside from the best moments and food I had, i'm also very smitten with some of the gifts I got from my amazing best friend and a particular pair of shoes that I got myself (they were on sale, only way I can justify it) I thought I would share them with you because I feel very lucky and just over the moon really.

Like I said I feel very lucky and thankful for everything, becoming 20 feels very weird to me, just the thought that the word 'teen' wont be pronounced when I say my age to people makes me scared that I have to start behaving like a proper adult haha

I would love to know what is on your birthday wishlist?

New In: Skincare

Hello lovelies hope your all well, it has been a while since I last blogged and honestly it was a mix of uni work/exams and just being uninterested in beauty and fashion. However now that I am more or less free from uni stress I can now get back into blogging.

Last week I made an order from various online websites and well all of these items were skincare items, I have no idea why but I've started to gain such a strong passion for skincare now and truly now understand the saying where if your skincare is perfect your makeup will follow.

The first item that was on my long skincare wish list was the -Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Fruit & Seed Oil- I always see Kate from Ghostparties rave about this and she totally sold me as she does on almost everything. First impressions on this is that I hate the smell, but after a few times of using it I got over that and instantly fell in love with this oil. I now understand why everyone raves about this oil it just makes your skin feel so nourished and also makes your skin really glow.

I really want to get into the whole liquid exfoliation trend that has been going on but I am actually too scared to try them in case they react badly with my skin. That is why I thought I would give the -Elemis Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Facial Wash- a go since it is a face wash with enzymes that exfoliate the face and get rid of all those dead skin cells, this face wash is also safe to use twice a day so I thought this was a safer option to try. My first impressions on this is that it made my skin feel sooo smooth and instantly saw a brighter complexion, it also didn't dry my skin out at all.

Now here is where the bargin bit comes along with the face wash I got a full size -Elemis Soothing Apricot Toner- for free with the purchase which was amazing, the duo costed £25! which was so good considering the actual face wash itself retails at £27 something. My first impressions on the toner is like any toner really, so nice spraying it on your face and really is soothing, this is going to be great on the hotter days.

Last of all is the spontaneous purchase, while I was ordering the other things I saw this face mask pop up and saw that they had a reduction, although their original price is quite high for a small pot of face mask I couldn't resist ordering it and seeing what the  hype is about. The -Glamglow Super Mud Clearing Treatment Mask- is raved among so many people, I have seen countless YouTube videos reviewing the masks and seeing such impressive results. My first impressions on this mask is that is lives up to its hype and it was a purchase well made, this mask also has exfoliating properties.

I will be trying these products fully out and hopefully getting up full reviews on these products so you guys know if they are worth the money and hype. But for now next on my list is definitely a SPF, I would love to know your recommendations.

I would also love to know what skincare items your loving at the moment, have a lovely day ^.^

Lush Tea Tree Water Toner

Lush Tea Tree Toner Water 100g: £3.95

Hello lovelies hope your all well ^.^ For the past few months I really haven't been having the best skin days. So I have been trialing certain skincare products and the Lush tea tree toner has made it into my staple skin care routine. This stuff is amazing, I never thought a toner would make such a difference to my skin.

This product is basically a toner which is filled with tea tree and other natural goodness. From researching I found that tea tree is great for spot prone skin and also oily skin. A bit of background, before I started using this toner I used to wake up with such an oily face it was getting pretty annoying and I knew this was one of the main reasons I was breaking out so much.

After using this toner for about 3 weeks straight my skin went back to normal. Its like it done a reset on my skin completely because I have stopped waking up with an oily face. The tea tree toner really helped in balancing my skin by controlling the oil.

The toner comes in a spray bottle which is so handy. After cleansing my face I tend to use it mostly by spraying it on a cotton pad and then wiping away all the dirt and grime that my cleanser didn't catch, and seriously it really does grab every little scrap of dirt.

I also use it by directly spraying the toner on my face, it feels really refreshing and its suppose to tighten pores if you leave it to air dry.

I do believe that this stuff has helped with my breakouts since I have noticed a huge difference in my skin and this is one of the products I have been using religiously. Even though it does control oil, it in no means makes my skin super dry, my skin just feels normal and hydrated.

The Lush tea tree toner comes in 2 sizes, the 100g which retails for £3.95 this is the one I have and its been lasting pretty well. It is also available in a larger size in a 250g bottle for £7.50 which is massive and is predictable that it will last you a very long time.

Overall I really do recommend this product, its a god send for oily skinned girls like me, and I think its definitely worth a try since all the ingredients in this are natural and it can only do good for the skin.

Have you tried this toner? Which is your favorite toner?

New Additions To My Life ☼

Hello lovelies hope your all well ^.^ I feel as if i've been a little absent from blogging, uni work has been crazzzy busy, I don't even have time to eat and sleep since all I am doing is editing, and cropping and rendering and coding its all too much computer stuff and just really need a break to be honest.

I did do a little tiny bit of retail therapy though and the first thing I want to show you guys is this beauty *Love Struck Emoji* I spotted this bag in Zara and fell in love with the colour, the size, the look everything but like a fool didn't buy it at the time, when I got home though I realized what a big mistake I made, so me and my best friend went on a hunt in central to buy it. Long story short we looked in like 4 Zaras all out of stock until we finally found it, we actually purchased the last two in store.

The colour is gorgeous especially for this spring/summer, and let me tell you its the most efficient bag iv had in a long time. The size is nice and small yet it fits soooo much. The two zips compartments keeps my more precious things while the open tote bit in the middle is perfect for things to chuck in and bring out. My favorite part is the little compartment at the front because it perfect to keep my oyster. If you live in London you know how frustrating it can be when you need your oyster card to tap in and out for trains and rummaging through your big bag can be a pain.

I am in love with this body spray from Holister, I love body sprays because they are so light and this one smells so sweet and fruity. I really like their body sprays and planning to get more when London gets a bit hotter.

I got these flats from Forever 21, I don't shop there often because its not too near me like other stores but these flats are so nice. I needed a pair of nice nude flats and these are going to be perfect for summer.

I was in need for a lip balm and picked the burt's bees one up since I haven't tried this. My first impressions are not to wowed, I feel like it dries out my lips more when I don't have it on, but it does keep my lips moisturized while its on. The grapefruit in it is quite addictive to apply as well.

That is the main stuff I have got recently, what have you picked up recently?

Is It The Secret To Clear Skin? La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+]

Hello lovelies, this post is going to be all about the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+] and my experience with the cream. A couple of months ago I started breaking out, I had no idea why I was since my skin is thankfully not spot prone. Since childhood I had been blessed with clear skin, with only the odd spot here and there which just makes us all human. Lately though I had woken up to quite a scare with quite a few big, red spots.  I had tried everything in my stash and nothing was making it better.

At this time the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+] was making its round around the blogs with high praises making it seem like a miracle product. I did see a few negative reviews but the majority only had incredible things to say, with some before and after pictures too along with La Roche-Posay’s claim for ‘clearer skin or your money back’ which sold me. If you happen not to know about this cream it is basically an anti blemish cream, which claims to prevent spots, unclog skin and heal breakouts with a special ingredient that helps to clear dark marks after breakouts.

Before I start bare with me since this is quite an up and down review, I just want to tell you exactly my experience with this cream. First off the packaging is really nice, it has a small pointed nozzle to get the product out. The cream is a white gel like moisturizer texture.

Applying the cream?

The first major thing that I experienced when I first applied this cream on to the face was the stinging. My god it hurt where the cream came in contact with my spots, my first reaction to putting this on was “fu*k this is stinging” which was quite a shock to me. I did read some reviews where people did say it was stinging too the first time, so I just assumed it was working straight away and my skin just needs to get used to it. (Btw the stinging is not very bad but you can definitely feel it but it was my personal experience so it may not happen to everyone)

The stinging went after a few minutes and my face felt very smooth and oil free which I was impressed by and happy that I endured that stinging for something good. I love the texture and it would be perfect under make up and does make to be a good pre-primer.

Now back to the stinging, I had thought it would only sting for the first time applying the cream but I was wrong. Up till maybe the 9th time applying the cream it still stung where it came in contact with my spots.

The results?

So by the 9th time I had gotten used to the stinging and it actually decreased slowly.  The results however for the first two days was that it actually made my skin worse. Yes it made my spots bigger but it dried it up if that makes sense which looked awful and was a pain to conceal, it sort of scabbed up the spot.

But.. A few days later there was a dramatic difference in my skin, my spots had gone down a lot and the redness had gone down as well, leaving me with smaller dried up scabby spots. At this point as gross as it sounds I had to peel the scab away to reveal a tiny spot. This all happened in the space of 2-5 days. Now I really don't get the process of this cream on my skin because I had not read the cream doing this to other peoples skin, when reading other blogs. But in the end it worked so I wasn't too fussed.

I continued to apply the Effaclar Duo [+] morning and night. By the end of day 8 it did heal the spots I had with no stinging, my spots had leveled down with only the sign of the dark marks where the spots were, so in the end the product did live up to it’s spot fighting claim.

So did it clear the dark marks left by the spots?

Hmm it didn’t entirely do that, it has been a month of using this product and I believe that it has made the scaring from my spots slightly lighter but that is all. I can still see where all my spots were. So sadly I don’t think this new ingredient they put it worked with my skin.  But since the product did heal my skin I am going to continue using this and see if it makes the marks go.

Overall my little summery is..

It is a great product, and it lives up to its claim as a spot fighting cream but it’s not a miracle cream and it really depends on your skin if it will do wonders for you or be a good staple in your skin care to use at a steady rate like how I use it to prevent spots and control oily skin.

Have you tried the Effaclar Duo [+] What are your thoughts?

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water VS. L’Oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Water

Hello lovelies hopes your all well, micellar water has honestly taken over the beauty community, while I am yet to still try bioderma I thought of trying out the more affordable ones first to see if I like them. I have the two most talked about budget micellar waters so I thought it would be good to compare the two as one actually gives twice as much product for the same price of £4.99

I first saw the L’oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Water on many blogs praising it so obviously I had to go out and buy it. I have been using this for the longest out of the two and its nearly finished and I really loved it, it removed my make up and didn't make my skin feel greasy. This contains (200ml) of product costing £4.99 (Its currently on offer at Superdrug for £3.32

The good points..

✔ Does what it says and removes make up, from foundation to that pesky gel liner, although with eye make up it does take a bit longer to take off maybe a extra 2 minutes. It didn't cause me any breakouts, or sting my eye badly (I do experience a tiny bit of stinging but that is only when the pad is really soaked)

The bad points however are..

✘ The packaging is really awkward to use as its a rectangle lid and the nozzle is quite large. Putting the water on to the pad gets real messy because a lot comes out and it leads to a lot of product wastage.

I actually first saw the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water on celeb big brother, you know when they zoom in on different things. I had no idea that Ganier do one and when I went to Boots I saw it and to my surprise it had twice as much product as the L'Oreal one (400ml) and it was the same price!

The good points..

✔ Same as the L'Oreal one it does the job, takes make up off easily with out irritating the skin or stringing the eyes.

✔ Love, love love the packaging to this, it is very similar to the famous bioderma and has a cute pink lid along with small nozzle so the water doesn't all come out in one gush, so you can control how much you want out which is great.

The bad..

✘ The only bad thing I can say in comparison to the L'Oreal is that it takes slightly longer to feel like all your make up is off if that makes any sense.

So the winner? For me personally its the Garnier as it gives twice as much product as the L'Oreal one so i don't see the point paying the same amount for the L'Oreal when it does the same job when I can get an extra 200ml with the Garnier, along with the fact that the L'Oreal ones also causes a lot of product wastage where else with the Garnier the packaging is perfect and would last me longer.
However I do believe that the L'Oreal one takes make up off slightly better than the Ganier but that is just my personal experience and is not that big of a deal to me as all i have to do is spend a few minutes more cleansing my face.

Have you tried any of these micellar waters and what are your thoughts?

NOTD : Mauve Kiss

Hello lovelies, recently I have been loving wearing this nail polish by Maybelline, its from the Color show range in the shade Mauve Kiss - I love the name of this as well but the color is so gorgeous! Its such a pretty neutral and I had gotten a lot of compliments on my nails when wearing this which I find so strange since its such a simple color you would think people would just over look it.

I'm also really impressed by the formula its not too thick or runny and it dries pretty quick too. What I love the most is the brush its the perfect shape and a fool proof brush for a messy nail polish applier like me. The only down side to this polish is that it can get a bit bumpy but that may be down to how crap I am at applying nail polish haha.

Have you tried the polishes? What do you think of them?

Just In: The £6 Slip Dress

Hello lovelies hope your all well, I picked up this slip dress from new look in their sale for only £6! It was reduced from £14.99 and the quality of it is so good plus the colour which was what sold me, the blue is perfect for the coming spring/summer and the material is a nice chiffon which feels really floaty and sweet.

I have seen a lot of slip dresses in various places eg Zara but I just didn't feel the need to spend that much for a bit of material with thin straps, but when I saw this for £6 and calculated how a meal at Starbucks adds up to the same amount (even more sometimes) in a matter of seconds I was at the till paying for it minutes before I started work.

I have found it on their online site here but unfortunately it seems to be out of stock, but check your local New Look guys because they have some really nice bargains going on.

I have actually created a little wish list below with items that I picture wearing with this dress with. I just can not wait for summer to come around!

What do you think of the dress? And have you found any bargains recently?

Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream In Fandango Purple

£4.99 Avaiable At Superdrug  Here
Hello lovelies, I love a good lip cream especially ones that are matte! I spotted this in superdrug a few months ago and thought I would give my thoughts on it since there are some good points yet unfortunately some bad which may put people off.

First off I can't deny that this stuff is amazingly pigmented for the price and seriously it don't budge! Also this is an amazing colour to wear if your going out and want a really bright lip to sort of stand out of the crowd, the colour is so pretty its a vibrant pinky, purple with blue undertones and sets on the lips in a matte velvety texture. Also one thing to note is that this stuff drys super fast I mean supppper fast you have to be careful where you place it because it sets and it wont come off unless you use make up remover even then there is sometimes a purple hint, so have cotton buds with make up remover at the ready when applying. I wore this and it lasted about 4 hours until it went very dry and faded into a dry stain.

Which leads me on to the biggest down side, it is very drying! and although matte creams tend to be on the drying side, this is a bit too dry for my liking, so exfoliation and a moisturizing lip balm is a must before you put this on or this will settle in the cracks of your lips which ruins the whole matte lip look.

But if you properly prep your lips for this product at £4.99 I think this is an amazing colour that won't break the bank.

What do you think of this product?
